Gutter Cleaning Kent

Gutter cleaners covering the whole of Kent

Blocked gutters are the cheapest problem on your house to fix and one of the most expensive to ignore.

Blocked gutters are the most common cause of damp we come across, and the cheapest thing on a house to put right. Leaves, moss and silt build up over autumn and winter until water spills over the edge instead of draining away, soaking the wall below and rotting the fascia boards behind it.

We clear gutters and downpipes across the whole of Kent using a high reach vacuum system, all from ground level. Nothing leans against your guttering, your fascias or your conservatory roof.

We’re out most weeks in Maidstone, Medway, Ashford, Canterbury, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Folkestone, Dartford and Gravesend, and we cover everywhere in between. Free survey, fixed written quote, no obligation.

How we clear your gutters

Everything is done from the ground using a high reach vacuum system.

The vacuum works from a telescopic pole, so nothing leans against your guttering, your fascias or your conservatory roof. That matters, because a fair proportion of the gutter damage we’re called out to was caused by someone else’s ladder.

What a standard clearance includes:

  • The full run cleared, not just the sections that are obviously blocked
  • Downpipes flushed through as well as the horizontal runs
  • Debris bagged and taken away, not tipped into your borders
  • A check for splits, sagging and loose brackets while we’re there, so you know if anything needs attention

If we find something the vacuum can’t deal with, such as a badly compacted valley gutter or a section that’s come away, we’ll tell you at the time rather than working around it.

Why Professionally Gutter Cleaning
What Are The Signs My Gutter Is Blocked

How often do gutters need clearing?

Once a year for most properties. Twice if you’ve got trees overhanging.

The autumn clear is the important one, once the leaves are down and before the winter rain. If your property backs onto trees, and a lot of Kent housing does, a second clear in spring stops the debris compacting over summer.

Properties near the coast pick up different problems. Gull nesting material is heavier and more stubborn than leaf litter, and it blocks downpipes rather than sitting in the run.

Newer estates aren’t exempt. Shallower modern roof pitches mean water moves more slowly, so debris sits rather than washing through.

Signs your gutters need doing

Most people call us after they’ve noticed one of these.
  • Water spilling over the front edge of the gutter in heavy rain
  • A green or brown stain running down the wall below a joint
  • Plants growing out of the gutter
  • Damp patches appearing on an internal wall or ceiling
  • Water pooling at the base of a downpipe rather than draining away
  • Birds nesting in the run

If you’ve spotted any of them, it’s worth getting looked at before winter rather than after.

FAQS

It depends on the size of the property and how much guttering there is. A mid-terrace is at the lower end, a detached with a conservatory towards the higher. We give you a fixed written price before starting, and there’s no charge for coming out to look.
No. Everything is done from ground level using a high reach vacuum system. It’s safer for our team and it means nothing rests against your guttering, fascias or conservatory roof.
Usually yes, since we work from the ground and need to reach the rear guttering. You don’t need to be in as long as we can get round. Let us know about locked gates, alleys or dogs when you book.
Yes. There’s no point clearing the runs if the downpipe is still blocked, so flushing them through is part of a standard clearance.
We’ll tell you what we’ve found and what it needs. Splits, sagging sections and loose brackets are common on older guttering and they’re usually visible once the debris is out.
